Evil Salutes Incompetence (Or Vice Versa)

Via Atrios, here's some sobering news for fans of the lively arts:

The inaugural ceremony will include performances by the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, the U.S. Marine Band and mezzo sopranos Denyce Graves and Susan Graham.

Guy Hovis, a vocalist from Tupelo, Miss., who performed on the Lawrence Welk show, will sing, "Let the Eagle Soar," a song written by Attorney General John Ashcroft.
Shortly thereafter, the earth will careen out of its orbit and into the sun, due to a gravitational anomaly caused by hundreds of deceased American presidents and composers simultaneously spinning in their graves.
