This is Dendrodoris denisoni. It's a nice change from the woefully drab nudibranchs I usually post, isn't it?
Rather than gnawing at coral, D. denisoni dissolves it with digestive juices and then siphons it up. Nice work if you can get it!

Stunning nudibranch.
Obviously a wonderful piece of Intelligent Design.

::running back running back::
But anyone who comes in here to comment is gonna get REAL distracted by Moonbootica's gravatar!
Crikey! It looks like it should be mined!
I can't tell if that's real, or if I'm hallucinating from lack of sleep. Pretty, nonetheless...
Obviously a wonderful piece of Intelligent Design.
Truly, a living testament to the power and wisdom of the Lord! Its beauty and complexity deal a death-blow to materialism.
Now, let's drill for oil in its habitat.
Gorgeous, one of the best yet (I save them all on my computer). Added to the star sapphires are lustrous pearls and sparkling pink tourmaline. You can tell I collect gemstones, but none compare to this beauty.

Wow, gorgeous. (I was going to say something about it looking like expensive and rare jewels but your other fans already stole my comment, fweh!)

Lovely, in a agglomerated way! So Dendrodoris dissolves then sucks up its prospective dinner, and transmutes hard, dry coral into an array of glitter that puts the display window of Tiffany's to shame. Does this mean that if we were giant nudibranchs, with all their strange powers of transcendant digestion, we could dissolve then siphon the liquified Bush administration, and turn the Iraq War into a garden of peace and understanding?
Phila -- Thanks for your comment. I'm actually in the process of completely overhauling the website, so things are probably going to be a little rough around the edges for a while. (My brilliant English graphic designer returned a quite remarkable mockup today, and I said "Go!" on it, so it should be going up within a couple of weeks.) I'll fix that if I can -- sometimes my HTML editor does weird things which aren't immediately obvious to fix.
